I'm back!

Well,  I am obviously not very good at this whole blogging thing.  It takes a lot of time, which I don't have now that the kids are out of school.  But I will tell you what I have in the works.  On Sunday October 12th the Puget Sound Indie Artisans also known as EtsyRain will be having another craft show.  The show will be at Saint Edward State Park in the Grand Dining Hall.  I will be there selling my purses and hopefully if I get busy weaving some beautiful wool rugs.  Let me know if you would like to be on an email list for upcoming events.

Upcoming Artisans Show

Mark your calendar.  Mothers Day Weekend, May 10, 2008 in Edmonds, I will be participating in a fabulous craft show with 23 other local Seattle artisans.  All items are handmade.  There will be door prizes, so come early and hang around to get a swag bag.  I will have some of my purses, rugs, and other items.  It should be a great show with some really talented people selling unique gifts.  It is a perfect day out for mom, or shopping for that last minute gift for your mom.

Warping again

I am getting to warp my rug loom again.  I just took the last two rugs off the loom.  I keep thinking spring colors, but I am destined to do blue again since I have some orders for blue jean rugs.  My little loom is vacant, maybe I will do a spring color on her.  Table runner?  Placemats?  I will have to think about for a few days.

Weavingone's Blog

Here is the deal.  I am a SAHM that does a little crafting in my spare time.  For those that are SAHM you know that there isn't much free time, but I make a point of doing something for myself everyday.  I like to think of myself as a fiber artist.  My husband says I am just a loom collector.  I also dabble in a few other crafts.  I have recently started selling some of those items on Etsy.com.  Etsy is a great website where you can buy all sorts of fantastic things that are handmade by some really amazing artists.

I call my store Junk into Funk-tion.  I make functional art out of recycled materials.  My latest creations have been purses that are made from recycled fabric and wooden signs.  It started with a purse that I made for myself, but my girlfriends loved them and wanted to buy them.   I also weave some fantastic rugs made from fabric that spent its former life as a pair of jeans, flannel sheets, or some other object
